We leave for our annual church retreat tomorrow. It is always over Easter weekend and is a great time of spiritual renewal for all involved. Here are a few of my favorite things:
1. seeing old friends
2. spending time working together with old friends
3. making new memories
4. shopping and organizing the food for camp
5. staying in the cook's cabin
6. the beauty of the camp
7. the intense lessons
8. seeing the kids learn the lessons
9. listening to the kid's perceptions of the lessons
10. hoping that the camp's lessons cause growth for the kids involved

the new campground
The new campground was good. Of course, anything would have been better than where we'd been going the last few years, but this place was nice. Here are a few of my favorite things:
1. big kitchen
2. a/c in the kitchen
3. many stoves, meaning we could cook all the food at the same time!
4. walk in fridge
5. not having to store any food in our cabin
6. bathroom in the kitchen area
7. a/c in gym for kids in afternoon
8. lake
9. pool on site
10. reusable trays, glasses, utensils

church camp
We are heading off for church camp tomorrow for a week. I am not a huge proponent of church camps, especially for younger kids, but I thought I would go ahead and list a few of my favorite things to get me in the proper mindset:
1. seeing old friends
2. seeing how the kids how grown and matured
3. my husband is director so I know things will run fairly, smoothly and fun
4. our whole family will be here this year-daughter's last year, son is a jr. counselor, me-cook, husband-director
5. new campground is sure to be better than the previous one
6. pool on campus
7. learning new things
8. seeing the kids have fun learning about God
9. nice to get away
10. only five days
