end of school year

Now that the end of the school year is upon us, here are a few of my favorite things:

1. no succumbing to the school's schedule and least for 12 weeks

2. don't have to hear about crummy teachers

3. no schedule

4. play days

5. I would say see my son more often...but that isn't likely to happen!

6. time off

7. hope for a better year in the fall

8. my son is half way done with high school

9. only get up early when I want to

10. do things when I want to rather than work them around school time schedule

Friday, May 1, 2009

My daughter turned 13 today. I know that having two teens in the house is going to be lots! As a new teen, she wanted friends to come over and "hang out" as opposed to a "scheduled party." It made it easier for me. Here are a few of my favorite things:

1. no planning

2. she did all the inviting

3. pizza, popcorn, candy and fruit was just right

4. little to no presents

5. movies from library

6. no entertaining, directing, emceeing, etc

7. few friends

8. less expensive

9. more quiet

10. I sit and blog while she "hangs out with friends"!
