things to see in D.C.

The other day my friend told me they will get to go to Washington D.C. in the fall. (What a great time to go!) She asked me the top three things to see in D.C. I said "only three??" She told me they won't be there that long (they are going for a conference) so what would I recommend. Since I could not limit it to just three, here are a few of my favorites:

1. Lincoln Memorial

2. Washington Memorial

3. Capitol Building

4. FBI building

5. Ford's Theater

6. Jefferson's Memorial

7. Arlington Cemetery

8. Mint

9. Smithsonian (as much as you can--flight, natural science, history, etc...!!)

10. Vietnam Memorial

(I would add the White House and the Archives as well, if I can just lump all the memorials together, or just say "the mall" as one item....)

Thank You! Thank You!! Thank You!!! I am printing this out so I don't forget before we start finalizing our plans.

And, by the way, didn't I agree to *5* things. LOL Just kidding, the more the better.

there really is so much to see. think
about what would be most interesting to your family and how it will work in to your time frame...some of these things I have not seen since I was a kid, so don't know how it's changed--for example, the mint-is it still available to see, is it still fun or have they just made it a quick "assembly line"/in and out thing.

but I do say see as much as you can, but I'm like that you know! :)
